The project Alamos Agribusiness - which is focused to the sheep and goats breeding - is based on a tripod:
- High quality genetics obtained from nationals and international’s most renowned breeders.
- Implementation of a center to collect and process genetic material as semen and embryos,
with forecast for start of activities in the second half of 2008.
- Development of an effective production system of lamb’s meat with high quality and low cost, the capacity is to raise 6000 females.
In order to follow it objectives, The Alamos Agribusiness has two different units:
- Álamos Farm is localized in São João do Triunfo, Paraná (130 km from the Capital Curitiba). With a 600 hectares area, with 170 hectares used as natural reserve (the group has a great commitment with the earth’s safe-guard). This farm works with the production system of: intensive handling, low cost, and pastures formed by a mix of grass and legume. The animals are maintained in pickets surrounded by electrified fences. There are 1000 females by now, the potential is to 6000 females in this space and the goal is to have 7000 births a year.
- Álamos Genetics is situated in São Luiz do Purunã, Paraná (50 Km from the Capital Curitiba). With a 40 hectares area, it is focused on the creation of a Excellency center. Making use of the newest techniques for fast multiplication, it counts with the population of over 500 pure-blooded animals; births of certified embryos imported from South Africa and Australia. From 2008 on it will have a Central established, working with imported and also our own genetic material. The team is formed by the best professionals in this area, with prominence to Mr. Sergio Nadal, embryologist. Thus being, we work with the best handling, health-care and genetic material possible.
With this great work, the achievement of the whole Álamos Agribusiness team is the collection of prizes obtained at all the most prestigious fairs in this country, consolidating it-self as an important supplier of high quality genetics in Brazil.
